Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing to express my interest in serving as an RN at your Southwest Las Vegas Plastic Surgery practice. I saw the position posting on craigslist.com on July 16, 2008. This position fits my education, experience, and career interests.
As indicated in my enclosed resume, I am currently employed as a Registered Nurse on a Women’s Services floor at Summerlin Hospital. As outlined in my enclosed resume, you will find that I have extensive experience in my field. Through my years of practice as a Maternal/Child nurse, I have acquired the Recovery Room skills necessary to meet the demands of this position. Being a Labor and Delivery nurse, as well as being a Post Partum Nurse, I have recovered hundreds of patients under various levels of anesthesia.
In addition to my organization and leadership experience, I am also fluent in Spanish. With the flexibility of being bilingual, I would be able to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clientele as well as English speakers. My organized and detail oriented nature have allowed me to excel in my field. Co-workers, advisors, and supervisors have commented on my ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a level of enthusiasm for the project at hand.
Please accept my enclosed resume as my application for the Registered Nurse position. It provides you with more of my qualifications and experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (818) 531-5558 or e-mail me at erika_calle@hotmail.com. Thank you for considering me for this position. I look forward to speaking with you about the possibility of joining your team.
Sincerely,
Erika Calle

Education: |
(Education listed above on resume. Will use this window for a short description of job history).
As you can see on my resume, most of my recent jobs have been VERY short term. That is because I am a Travel Nurse and my contracts/assignments are typically 10-13 weeks at a time,
I am now finally looking to settle down in the Las Vegas area and am looking for something more permanent. I am also looking to get out of the hospital setting. I know that my travel assignments can make one hesitant to consider me for a permanent position. However, if anything, I think it shows strength of character as well as evidence that I can easily adapt to any environment or situation.
Please consider me for this position and I assure you, I will be an asset to your team.
