NURSING ADMINISTRATION
Responsible for daily operation of long-term care facility including supervision of 118 employees, working closely with the staffing coordinator to ensure appropriate staffing, hoding staff meetiings as needed, staff counselling/discipline. Staff members include RN charge nurses, LPN team leaders and CNA care providers.
Responsible for leading other disciplines in gathering data needed and then completing MDS ( minimum data sheets), required by the state, to determine funding per patient for the facility.
Direction of weekly quality of care meetings with other disciplines to discuss the status/needs of the residents, preparation of weekly and monthly reports, ensuring quality care be delivered to all patients/residents.
Participation in weekend on-call rotation with DON, ADON and Administrator to direct staff in any emergency situations they may encounter on the weekends.
Daily rounds/inspection of building to acheive premium quality of our facility.
During the first 2 months of employment my position as Clinical Director of 65 beds of our sub-acute facility required me to provide case management to those patients with an approximate turn-around time from admission to discharge of 10 days. Responsibilities also included attending daily status meetings with all physicians, other department heads, the DON and Administrator, weekly and monthly reports and supervision of staff which included any counsellling/discipline as needed.
