The Business Development/Client Service group of our client acts as the primary liaison with current/prospective clients and high net worth & institutional consultants. Today, the group consists of 10 members. The group is responsible for producing high-impact, accurate, and consistent messaging, including marketing books and website content. The group is also responsible for responding to prospective and current client inquiries via various deliverables, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), customized client reports and various topical communications. Overall Job Purpose: To oversee and prepare responses to client, prospective client, and advisor inquiries with RFIs, RFPs, various marketing materials, and customized client-specific information. To effectively liaise with clients, prospective clients, and consultants. Qualifications: The candidate must be a proactive team player interested in participating in numerous facets of the business. The role requires unwavering attention to detail and proven organizational skills. Most deliverables will be deadline-oriented to both internal and external parties. The role will require interaction and synthesis of information across the firm (e.g. Research, Operations, Compliance, Information Technology), and, as such, will require professional acumen and maturity. Five to seven years of experience with an investment management organization, preferably in a client service/marketing or research role. Familiarity with investment consulting would be advantageous. RFP experience required preferably in asset management/financial services industry. Prior experience/education, combined with a strong interest in the field of finance, investments, statistics, or economics would be preferred. Superior project management abilities with strong deadline orientation are mandatory. Must have strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel; Lotus Notes familiarity would be advantageous. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Primary responsibility for managing the response process for RFPs. Lead the writing, development, compilation and detailed requests for proposals (RFPs) which pertain to performance, organizational information, product specific data, staff turnover, philosophy, investment process, etc. Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of RFP database. Maintain files and log for completed consultant and pending questionnaires, RFPs and other external databases. Maintain a subset of regularly required consultant/client-specific communications (e.g. RFIs, periodic customized client reports). Execute the timely and accurate presentation of materials by overseeing responses and working to implement ongoing process improvements. Primary responsibility for maintenance of various marketing communications, including the marketing book and the firm website. Create and maintain marketing materials specific to new client presentations. As necessary, create customized marketing materials for current clients. Work closely with Client Service Manager to implement and maintain regularly-updated summary of internal communications for marketing purposes. Liaise with key contacts throughout the firm to ensure accuracy and best response to marketing-related inquiries on an ongoing basis. Assist in the development/maintenance of the website with respect to accuracy and thoroughness. Work closely with team colleagues to suggest and adopt efficiency improvements; oversee the implementation of these improvements as necessary. Relationships: Interacts with every department within the firm. Works closely with Portfolio Management, Research & Accounting to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of responses to prospective and current client inquiries.
