Job Description:

ITs a network Logo
Our client is a privately owned firm specializing in the trade of Treasury, Eurodollar, Energy, Agricultural Commodity and other products. They make markets electronically and on the floors of various exchanges. The firm is growing quickly and depends upon the interactions between Traders, Financial Engineers and the Software Development team for their continued success. Financial Engineers research, develop and implement trading strategies. Projects may include: doing research in academic literature, creating financial models, developing a new futures trading strategy, implementing analytical or trade execution software, or optimizing and programming an existing trading idea. Financial Engineers will confront practical situations untouched by academics, and must be able to solve these unique problems quickly and accurately. As traders rely on the work done by financial engineers, such work must always be robust (both practically and mathematically) and properly account for risk. At this company, a successful Financial Engineer will have the following qualifications: - Masters or PhD degree from a TOP-TIER university in the U.S. (mathematics, statistics, finance, financial engineering, engineering or similar discipline); - a strong analytical background; - sound quantitative skills; - the ability to think creatively about unique problems; - motivation (you must have the desire and the ability to quickly translate ideas into useful tools and strategies); - an intuitive understanding of financial derivatives, as well as some practical programming exposure; - confidence without arrogance; and - excellent communications skills. Experience in the energy industry as a financial engineer is helpful, but not necessary. The compensation package is terrific. Our client offers all employees a competitive base salary, potential for bonus and great benefits. The benefits package includes health insurance, dental insurance, 401(k), paid time off, Flexible Savings Account, Commuter Savings Account and more. The client is conveniently located near public transportation in downtown Chicago
