Company Profile:
MIXED-SIGNAL DESIGN ENGINEER is responsible for full design cycle of mixed signal sensor and actuator electronics. This position requires the ability to design circuits that may include sensors, analog sensor conditioning, high accuracy digitization using A/D converters and processing in the digital domain (DSP) using microcontrollers, FPGA’s or DSP’s. In addition ability to design actuation of sensors with D/A converters or power actuation with PWM and power switches is required. Beyond circuit design experience designing PCB’s with reliability, thermal, EMI/EMC, and safety considerations is a must. Finally hands on troubleshooting and circuit debugging skills are required.

Target applications include aircraft sensors, battery control systems, gas-turbine/jet-engine control and monitoring, motion control systems, and opto-mechanical systems. A flexible individual with willingness to learn application/industry specific requirements and develop ways to meet these requirements is crucial.

The candidate must satisfy the following requirements:
• Able to work in a collaborative work environment where projects can range from rapid turn around to fully documented and traceable designs.
• Capable and willing to do hands on design including circuit design, schematic capture, printed-circuit board layout and routing, circuit test and debug.
• Be experienced with all aspects of Mixed Signal Circuit Design

The ideal candidate will possess many of the following:
• Generate, program, and debug designs using embedded microcontrollers, CPLDs, FPGAs, and DSPs.
• Capable of performing transistor, circuit and chip-level modeling, simulation and optimization as well as laboratory testing and characterization.
• Understand layout issues with respect to issues of EMI/EMC, high reliability, challenging operational environments, MIL-SPEC requirements and be able to design to pass acceptance tests.
• Experience in general circuit design and systems engineering skills such as innovative architecture development and requirements/specification generation, requirements traceability and integration, test and demonstration.
• Familiarity with Altium Design Automation Tools or the equivalent.
• Experience with signal processing theory (analog and digital filters, estimation and detection etc.), stability analysis etc.
• Excellent communication skills a must, experience working with DoD technical customers required.
• Willing to provide technical leadership on small-to-medium engineering teams involved in projects ranging from proof-of-concept to the development of fully-integrated systems.
• Generate innovative solutions to a variety of challenging circuit and application problems and contribute to the pursuit and capture of contract funding for projects ranging from R&D to mature concepts.
• BS/MS Engineering and 10+ years of experience electronics design.
