Part Time and PRN positions available
Position qualifications—
1. C.N.A. experienced provider, college student in health occupations curriculum, or other person qualified to provide day-to-day palliative care under the supervision of an R.N. and Executive Director
2. Physical strength to transfer, shower, and position residents.
3. Able to relate to and communicate effectively with staff, residents and their family members.
4. Bilingual a plus.
Responsible to—
5. Executive Director
Caregiver - Reports to the Executive Director and R.N.
6. Provide personal care to terminally ill residents, including showers, bed baths, bed changes, mouth care, toileting, transfers.
7. Prepare food trays, assist with feeding as needed.
8. Give medications (orally, rectally, by patch, cream) under supervision of registered and licensed vocational nurse.
9. Handle medical equipment correctly (i.e. oxygen concentrators, suction machines, nebulizers.)
10. Contact home manager, director, Hospice personnel, doctors, and/or family members when and as residents’ condition warrants.
11. Record information accurately on resident charts, intake forms, referral forms.
12. Do household chores as needed (i.e. laundry, cooking, cleaning)
13. Provide a loving, supportive, concerned presence to residents, family members, visitors, volunteers and other staff.
14. Perform other tasks as requested by the executive director.
15. Follow Sunshine Haven policies.
