High-Frequency Trading ---Seeking C++/Linux or Unix Expert
This successful hedge fund has a start-up culture and is looking to construct a team of top-notch C++/Linux -Unix trading strategists to work hand- in-hand with their top Portfolio Manager developing High-frequency trading strategies in multiple asset classes. The firm is in a critical growth phase and now is the ideal time to become an integral member of this elite team!!
As one of our developers you will help design and develop new trading strategies from scratch while learning from accomplished quants and traders in the industry. You will learn how to design cutting edge trading algorithms and be asked to solve complex technology problems, with a heavy focus on “software”, as the firm leverages technology to drive the trading strategies. You will work in all aspects of the system from front end, middle-tier, and back-end database in designing solutions, testing their functions, production, implementation and support. We are looking for someone who is creative yet able to handle details efficiently.
This is not a position where you solely focus on the code, instead we are looking for an individual who possess interpersonal skills and thinks outside the proverbial box. You will be expected to participate in the entire development process, including: gathering requirements, coding, production support, interfacing with operations and other staff in a fast-paced environment focusing on memory management, reliability, speed and performance sustainability.
To be successful in applying for this position, during the interview, one must have the ability to clearly demonstrate the complexity of the systems you are working on in great detail, any performance issues you faced in development in the past and demonstrate a superior knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Qualifications:
* MS/PhD Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Finance from top institution
* Hands-on C/C++ development experience
* Demonstrated experience working on the design, implementation, and deployment of large, complex software projects
* Strong knowledge in pure UNIX/LINUX operating system
* Excellent ability and knowledge to write and solve complex algorithms
* Strong skills in User-Oriented Design and scripting (shell, Per)
* Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented design
* Market structure knowledge (someone who understand Trading Systems and market data)
* Aptitude and potential greater than years of experience
